Show William Pitt Root, Poetry Reading second sponsored this year by the newly formed SUSC Literary Guild. The first featured Pulitzer Prize Nominee Bill Ransom, poet in residence fall quarter at SUSC. A poetry reading by Oklahoma born poet William Pitt Root will be presented Friday evening at Southern Utah State College, sponsored spon-sored by the SUSC Literary Guild. The public is invited to attend the reading which will begin at 8 pm. in the Special Collections Room, SUSC Library. No admission will be charged, but donations to the guild will be welcome according to Dixie Tirre, guild publicity chairperson. Among the many awards and honors the poet has received are a Rockefeller Foundaiton Grant for 1969-70 and a United States-United Kingdom Bicentennial Exchange Artists Fellowship. He received the Orpheus Award for his "Solng of the Woman and the But-terflyman",Nawarded But-terflyman",Nawarded at the First International Poetry Film Festival held in San Francisco in 1976. In addition, Root is listed in "Who's Who in America," "Contemporary Authors," "International Artists", "Writers' Who's Who", and in the "Directory of In-ternaitonal In-ternaitonal Biographers."
