Show Court Ruling Upheld by Burns in Taysom Case Judge J. Harla'n Burns of the Fifth District Court, ruled last week that Susan Taysom must provide handwriting hand-writing samples. The decision upheld the ruling of Circuit Court Judge Christian Ron-now Ron-now last fall when he cited Taysom's attorney for contempt of court for not submitting the handwriting samples. Ronald Yengich, the Salt Lake City attorney defending Taysom, refused to submit the samples to Ronnow's court calling it self incrimination and a violation of Taysom's constitutional rights. Yengich Indicated that he intends to appeal Judge Burns' decision to the Utah Supreme Court. Taysom, former Director of Nursing Nur-sing at the Valley View Medical Center, was arrested last August and charged with 83 counts of allegedly obtaining a controlled substance through "misrepresentation, fraud, forgery, deception or subterfuge." The drugs allegedly involved include in-clude 50, 75 and 100 mg. dosages of demerol and 25 mg. dosages of morphine sulfate. |
