I Wilden Tweedie and Robert Phew of Kanab, who are employed at Grand Canyon, spent Thursday and Friday with Mrs. Flora Tweedie and family. j Mrs. Burr Bradshaw and daughter, daugh-ter, Phyllis, left Sunday for Salt Lake City where she will meet her fiance, Weldon A. Heslop, of Ogden, whom she will marry on August 19, at the Salt Lake Temple. Luzanne Ballard, who has been J the guest of Mrs. Ed Leavitt of Bunkerville returned here Thursday. Thurs-day. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur A. Brown left Sunday for Maple Grove in Sevier county, where they will attend the Durfee reunion which will be held for three days. Max Campbell returned Saturday Satur-day from Cedar City where he has been employed for the past several weeks. Mrs. Karl Fife and two small children of Tooele are here staying with Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Demille. With 30 cars of peaches being shipped out from Hurricane and La Verkin the first day, harvesting harvest-ing began in earnest. Saturday 25 more cars were shipped. Mr. and Mrs. Oura Burgner and family who are living in Zion Park, spent from Friday through Sunday at Hurricane. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Dennett of St. George spent Saturday here visiting friends. Leo K. Homer and son Robert, left Monday for Burley, Idaho, where they are spending the summer, sum-mer, after having visited with friends here Saturday and Sunday. Sun-day. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stout, who are spending the summer on Cedar mountain were here over the week end. lone Hamblin of Leeds spent Saturday visiting friends and attended at-tended the funeral of Clyde Angell while here. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Webb, who recently returned from Salt Lake City where Mr. Webb attended summer school, left Wednesday for a visit with friends in Los Angeles and San Francisco. They will also take in the world's fair. Elwood Reber returned home Saturday after four days spent visiting with Max Leavitt of Overton. Miss Maxine Englestead of Panguitch left Sunday for her home after spending the past two weeks with Mrs. Maggie Englestead. Rita Cox of Cane Beds arrived here Saturday to visit with her grandmother, Mrs. Mary Jane Cox. Miss Genevieve Isom left Friday Fri-day for a prolonged motoring tour with Mr. and Mrs. Peter Carr of Las Vegas and party. They plan to visit British Columbia Colum-bia and later the San Francisco world's fair. The Misses Dorothy Hirschi and Elaine Bradshaw returned Sunday from a two weeks' vacation on Cedar mountain. Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Spendlove left Sunday for Salt Lake City to spend a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Nuttall, who have spent the summer, in Logan attending summer school, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Muriel P. Fawson, Mrs. Elmer Graff and Mrs. Lafe Staheli, left Friday for the world's fair at San Francisco. Miss Eva Stucki of Cedar City is visiting with Miss Elna Wit-twer. Wit-twer. Thursday, Mrs. Karl McMullin was an honored guest at a friendship friend-ship shower held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Scow. Miss Lazon Knell of New Castle and Miss Dale Ward of Parowan are here as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Page Knell. Mr. and Mrs. Percy Wittwer, who are employed at Mt. Trumbull, Trum-bull, spent the week end here. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Burke of Salt Lake City are here visiting with Mr. and Mrs. William Hinton and family. Duard Ballard, an employee of Cedar City, spent the week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Ballard. Wednesday, Mayor Gene Wads-worth's Wads-worth's nephew, Frank Wilcox, and family of Pioche, visited with him. Miss Rosamond Wood and La-Donna La-Donna Stevens have been visiting in Salt Lake City during the past week. Henry Benhan of the Cedar City CCC camp spent the week end at the home of Joseph F. Wittwer. Mrs. Owen Sanders and son, Ronald, accompanied by Edna Ballard, returned to her home in Logan after several days of visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Ballard. Miss Mary Peterson and Irene Bringard of Delta are here as guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Riding and family. Mr. and Mrs. Meniel Wood who have been employed in the movies on Cedar mountain, returned to their home Tuesday. The work of running 1500 feet of pipe down the highway through the center of town to supply water for the new homes in this section has been started. The Misses Lorraine and Cleora Pollock of Kanarraville spent Wednesday and Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Lafe Ballard and family. Miss Marline Stevens, who has been visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Warren Hamilton at the Grand Canyon this summer, returned on Friday. Miss Cleone Stratton returned Tuesday from a visit with Mrs. Del Mar Ray of Meadows. Miss Mildred Brown, who has spent the past few weeks on Adar mountain, returned home Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Tim Hoyt, who have moved to their farm on Cedar mountain, spent the week end in Hurricane. George Hastings, who has been working on Adar mountain since the St. George Temple closed, spent Monday here. Mrs. John Stocks returned from a visit with her parents in Logan-dale, Logan-dale, Nev., Friday. |
