Show Clyde Angell Dies From Injuries Received In Truck-Horse Collision HURRICANE, Utah Clyde Angell. An-gell. 34, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Angell, died Thursday, Thurs-day, Aug. 3, at 10:30 p.m. in the Iron county hospital. He died of gangrenous- poisoning following an emegency operation for the amputation ampu-tation of his right leg which was severely cut Saturday evening whpn he was one of the victims of a horse-truck collision which occured just outside the city I limits of Hurricane. ' The young man was rushed to the hospital Wednesday and underwent the amputation immediately, im-mediately, never regaining consciousness con-sciousness before the time of his tragic death Thursday evening. Funeral Services Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 5, in the North ward chapel by Joel J. Roundy and Rodney Stanworth. Speakers were Alvin . Englestead, Frank Barber, Jim Stanworth, Harvey Dalton, Claudius Hirschi and Wayne Hinton, one of Clyde's boyhood pals. All gave very impressive im-pressive and sympathetic talks, telling of their high esteem for Clyde and his parents and wife. Miss Barbara Tweedie and Mona Wilson gave' a duet accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Leo Reeves. A clarinet solo was given by Bill Smith; Mrs. Harold Anderson and Mrs. Cummen Stratton sang, "Whispering Hope"; a male quartet quar-tet composed of Jessie Jepson, Lafe Staheli, Webb Barber and Grant Woodbury furnished several other musical numbers. Directly after the services the body was taken to the Hurricane cemetery to be buried, the grave being dedicated by Emeral Stout. Mr. Angell is survived by his wife, Hattie Stratton; three sons, Dennis, Delmar, Charley and daughter Carren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Angell, sisters, Mrs. Jessie Jepson, Mrs. Charlie Stratton, Mrs. Blanche Isom, Mrs. Annie Bradshaw and Mrs. George Stevens, all of Hurricane. |
