Show Conservation Program At Enterprise Going Ahead Rapidly ENTERPRISE, Utah Under the direction of the Board of Supervisors, Super-visors, work is . going ahead rapidly on the 160,000 acre Enterprise Enter-prise Soil Conservation district. The 130 families living on the Enterprise district have shown a great interest in formulating plans to conserve their soil resources re-sources under the State Soil Conservation Con-servation district program. Soil Conservation Service personnel per-sonnel under Fred Howard, district dis-trict conservationist, have been making surveys and plans for the i past month to determine the work necessary to produce a well-j well-j rounded conservation program. Several meetings have been held with the local people, to explain ex-plain their responsibilities in the carrying out of this program, which will correct the damage to farms and the town of Enterprise, Enter-prise, caused by heavy floods from Spring and Shoal creek. The floods are lowering the land productivity every year by washing away the valuable top-soil top-soil on one hand and at the same time covering with debris other good irrigated land. It is hoped that actual construction operations ean be started in the near future. The board of supervisors, who direct the soil conservation work, consists of: George O. Holt, chairman; chair-man; Joseph A. Terry, Roy Adams, Arthur Jones and Mr. Huntsman. |
