Allred nabbed first place in the 1600 meter run at 4:38.2 and nabbed top honors in the 3200 meter run at 10:39.69 in a track meet at Tooele, Thursday. Allred netted sixth place in the 3200 meter run at the Icebreaker Tournament Tourna-ment at Brighton High School, Saturday Satur-day with a new Uintah High School record of 9:40.31 which breaks the old school record by 30 seconds according to Uintah track coach, Curg Belcher. Dave Emery placed second in the javelin with a toss of 181'2 and 3,J " at the Brighton meet. The Utes improved their region record to 2-0 when they thumped the Buffaloes in Tooele, Thursday, 825 to 58. Rick Morton pocketed first places in the 100 meter dash, 10.93; 200 meter dash, 22.85 and in the long jump, 20'5". Mike Johnson placed first in the 400 meter run at 53.00 and Randy Smuin netted first place in the 300 hurdles at 42.32. Dave Emery placed first in the javelin at 167'9" and nabbed first place in the shot put at 43'5V. Kenny Richens picked up first place in the 800 meter run at 2:05.9 and Roger Griffin placed first in the discus at 139'4". The Utes placed first in the 400 meter relay at 45.45. Members of the team were Emery, Johnson, Morton and Brian Long. Uintah's Smuin, Kenny Page, Allred and Blake Ewell captured first place in the medley relay with a time of 3:51.46. Uintah's Smuin pocketed third place in the 110 high hurdles at 18.74 and Long nabbed third place in the 100 meter dash at 11.45. Brent Hales placed second se-cond in the javelin at 154'3" and Gary Galley captured second place in the high jump at 5'8". Long tied for third place in the long jump at 19'5" and Gary Watkins placed third in the 800 meter run at 2:08.91. Griffin placed third in the shot put at 38'3 V and Paul Nelson netted second place in the discus at 106'11'i". Uintah's Watkins Richens, Bart Steinfeld and Devin Wright placed second in the mile relay at 4:03. Page nabbed second place in the pole vault at 10'6" and Jody Young netted third place at lO'O". Tooele's Empey captured first place in the 110 high hurdles atl6.76and Rowe placed second at 17.79. Harvey nabbed second place in the 100 meter dash at 11.42 and Jensen nabbed second place in the 1600 meter run at 4:59.15. Koehly, nabbed second place in the 400 meter run at 53.02 and Rowe placed second in the 300 meter hurdles at 43.74. Caldwell leaped 5'11" for first place in the high jump and Norton nabbed second place in the long jump at 20 0". Pehrson placed plac-ed second in the 800 meter run at 2:08.54 and O'Shaun captured second place in the shot put at 40'7". Mike Colyer of Mountain View captured cap-tured first place in the javelin at the meet in Brighton with a toss of 183'3" and Brad Hatch of Timpview placed third at 166'6". David Andresen of Murray Mur-ray placed first in the 3200 meter run at 9:31.01 and Matt Parker, Granite, nabbed nabb-ed second place at 9:32.03 and Brewer, Hillcrest, placed third at 9:34.54. The Uintah Ute track team will host Jordan, Thursday, April 23 and will compete in the Craig Invitational, April 25. The Utes will take on the Spartans in Murray, April 30 and will compete in the Brigham Young University Invitational, Invita-tional, May 2. A sophomore meet is set for May 1. |
