Show CULTURAL ARTS CLUB HOLDS APRIL SOCIAL Club was held at the home . of Mildred Mansfield with 15 members and one guest, , Mrs. Theo Lind, present. Lunch was enjoyed after which the program was presented by Leora Jacobe on "Your Talents and Mine." A passage was given from Alfred Lord Tennyson Ten-nyson and we were encouraged en-couraged to develop and use our own talents. Paper was passed out and we were asked to write a few lines of poetry. Draw gifts were given for this and Alice Fox, Mildred Mansfield, and Bernice Burke received the gifts. The next meeting will be held at the home of Dot Ottosen and the program will be under the direction direc-tion of Alice Fox. In 1945 at the on slaught of World War II growth of Federal Government installations in-stallations became active in the state of Utah. Those installations are: Bushnell General Hospital now Intermoun-tain Intermoun-tain School, Clearfield Naval Supply Depot, Dugway Proving Grounds, ' Fort Douglas, Geneva Steel Plant, Hill Air Force Base, Kearns Air Force Base, Mon-ticello Mon-ticello Vanadium Mill, Tooele Ordinance Depot, Utah General Depot, and Wendov'er Air Force Base. In 1877 Brigham Young died, and in 1882 Congress passed the anti-polygamy Edmunds Law. A year later the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad was completed. |
