Show Kinship celebrate 80's Over 500 people attended an open house in honor of five brothers and sisters, all in their 80's, that was held recently in the Glines ward cultural hall. Being honored were Dora B. Freestone, Ivan Batty, Celestia B. Rassmussen, Belle B. Perry and Daniel Batty. Leora Jacobe was chairman for this special occasion, with representatives from each family working on committees. com-mittees. Greeting guests were members mem-bers from each family including Mr. and Mrs. Garth Batty, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Freestone, and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Searle representing deceased brothers and sisters Don Batty, Vilate B. Freestone and Zina B. Searle. Paul M. Batty is the youngest member of the family. The hall was decorated with bouquets of flowers and unusual wood arrangements and featured tables displaying pictures arranged by individual in-dividual families. A genealogy chart was prepared and displayed. The program included a history of the parents Mark M. Batty and Permelia E Batty was prepared and read by Donald Batty. A violin selection was played by Weldon Bastain accompanied ac-companied by his daughter Bonnie Williams. Music was played throughout the evening by the "Homesteaders." Those being honored were presented with a hymn book with their name printed on it, and each honored guest and his companion were given a corsage cor-sage and boutonierre. Many friends and relatives from far and near were in attendance. |
