Show 'Ribbon cities' Dear Sir: As you are aware, most small towns or cities in the western USA, through poor planning or no planning, tend to become "ribbon cities"; that is, most all of the businesses want to locate on the main highway. The result is an unattractive city perhaps several miles long and a fraction of a mile wide. Also, it is tough on people who do not have a car to conduct their business. If the new highway from Bonanza to Vernal enters Vernal at a strategic place, and if the city and county planners ? arrange appropriate zoning for the area, some ot tne nDbon effect which Vernal now has could be eliminated. In the interests of a more attractive and efficient Vernal, your support in this matter is urgently solicited. Sincerely, MARTIN R. NELSON |
