Show Susan Raye coming to Vernal Feb. 2 The Vernal F.lks Ixdge is sxmsoring Country Western Singer Susan Raye in Vernal Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Vernal Junior High School auditorium at 8 p.m. Susan Raye has performed in Vernal several tunes sxmsored by the Elks Lodge. It wasn't until Susan was 17 years old that she listened to country music and fell in love with it. "If it had not been for radio, United Artist's records, Susan Raye might never have discovered country music and country music would have been deprived of one of its most talented singers", said a news release concerning Susan. Susan was born in Eugene, Oregon. She began singing in Portland, and then appeard in I-as Vegas and moved to Hakersfield, Calif. She had a succession ol hits including "Willy Jones", "L A. International Airport", "Pitly Pitty Palter", "I've Got a Happy Heart" and many others The smooth, mellow voice of Susan Have has earned her a prominent place in the world of country singing. Her professionalism, pro-fessionalism, her ability to please audiences au-diences and her ability to make friends as well as fans has earned her the resM-ct and admiration of the entire world of music.
