Show Unity Rebekah Lodge No. 23 installs officers Unity Rebekah Lodge No. 23 held their bi-monthly meeting on Jan. 16 for the purpose of installing the officers for this year under the direction of the District Deputy President, Alice White. Acting as her Deputy Marshall was Neva Ashby. The elective officers are Lynetta Kurtz, Nobel Grand; Phyllis Warby, Vice Grand; Keni Morey, Jr., Past Noble No-ble Grand; Margie Gardner, Secretary; Elizabeth Weist, Treasurer. The appointive officers are Alma Jeffries, Jef-fries, Warden; Neva Ashby, Conductor; Conduc-tor; Alice White, Chaplain; Eva Hatch, Musician; Mable Yourdon, Inside Guardian; Nola McNeill, Outside Guardian. Guar-dian. Right and left supporters to the Noble Grand, Vice Grand, Jr. Past Noble No-ble Grand and Chaplain are Grace Hall, Ann Hamilton, Sharon Wilier, Pearl Harrison, Wanda Jackson, Genevieve Littell and Hilda Morgan. This month the Lodges will honor the 198 birthday anniversary of Thomas Wildey who was the founder of the I.O.O.F. 161 years ago in March. He was born in England and served as the first Grand Master and the first Soverign Grand Sire of the lodge. The Noble Grand, Mrs. Kurtz, presented a gift to Alma Jeffries and Keni Morey who are celebrating their birthdays this month. Next meeting will be held Feb. 6 at the Golden Age Center. |
