This was the 61st National Western 4-H Roundup and the 51st Roundup sponsored by Montgomery Ward. Participants were given a tour of the Montgomery Ward Head Office in Denver. They attended the National Western Stock Show at which cattle judging teams demonstrated. They also attended the rodeo. Many banquets and dinners were hosted in honor of the 4-H delegates including in-cluding a meal at the County Dinner-Playhouse Dinner-Playhouse Theater, where they were treated to a performance of "My Fair Lady." They also ate at the plush Casa Bonita Restaurant and attended two-three two-three hour workshops by Carl Flowers on "Personal Growth," When they weren't attending workshops, banquets, shows and the rodeo, the 4-Hers did a little shopping and swam in the pool at the Executive Tower Inn, where they were lodged. Both Arlynn and Susan admitted they didn't get much sleep last week but that didn't seem to bother them much. They'd be ready to go on another trip in a minutes notice. If only they didn't have that school work to make up. |
