Show Art abuse Dear Editor, I am part of a two man art show currently cur-rently on exhibition at the Little Gallery of Arts. I am writing this letter of myself and I am sure that my feelings and views coincide with the other members of Vernal's art community and people who appreciate art in any form. Frankly, we are appalled at the recent re-cent exhibitions of imbecilic ignorance displayed by a tragic minority. When a person has the odasity to inscribe his or her height of intelligence, which is limited to misspelled four letter words, on property that is put on display for the appreciation of the general public as a whole, it becomes a severe tragedy. We all have a part to play in the development of the community. Some of us build houses, some farm, and others are in business. We, of the art community also try to do our part by contributing constructive creativity. No society is complete without its art forms, and history proves art to be an important part in the growth and development develop-ment of any worthwhile society! Every society has its waste products, be it crime, ignorance, or bigotry. These unfortunate un-fortunate people miss the entire point of a meaningful existence, and never understand what it takes to create a well balanced society. In conclusion, I know that this letter will do little to change those who wish to remain in a pitifully small state of development. The may stay behind if they choose, but we would hope that they would not inflict themselves on we who wish to go forward. Kirk Critton |
