Christine Abrmes, pound keeper logs in a whimpering dog to its temporary home at the new city and county coun-ty dog pound behind the Ashley Valley Veternarian Center. Jack Lent, animal control officer, has the tough job of getting them in the runs. City, eountfy employ new dog pound A new city and county dog pound facility has been constructed behind the Ashley Valley Veterinary Clinic and last week it replaced the previous pound located near the city sewer disposal plant. According to Jack Lent, city and county animal control officer, the new facility is a great improvement over the previous one. An official pound keeper, Christine Abrmes, will care for the dogs during their stay at the pound. All dogs are kept at the pound for three days after which they are exterminated. "It doesn't matter if a dog is licensed or not," Lent reminds dog owners, "if they are on other people's property they can be impounded or owners fined." The tentative hours of the new facility facili-ty are 10 a.m. to 12 noon and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. The pound is closed Sundays and open only from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturdays.
