Show Uintah-Union band unite for concert For the first" time in many years the Uintah High School band and the Union High School band will perform together in the joint concert Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Uintah High School theater. Mike Hoopes, director of the Union High band, will conduct four Christmas pieces including in-cluding "White Christmas". The Uintah High School band, directed by Jerry Tippets, Tip-pets, will perform three numbers: a Christmas suite, "Christmas Around the World;" a suite of dances, "Slavonic Dances;" and a contemporary contem-porary piece, "Cin-tiphony." "Cin-tiphony." "It will be a pleasure," Tippets said, "to perform with a band and director of the caliber of the Union High Band. It is important impor-tant for schools to come together on occasions such as this and perform. It bridges gaps many times formed between schools." Tippets invites everyone from Roosevelt and Vernal to attend the free concert. "This will truly be a gala evening to enrich the Christmas season," he concluded. |
