| Show mrs ERDA blanche elanche clegg three wandering spirits re returned I 1 curried to erda saturday after a rather r it h er ex trip through yellowstone national park then through idaho washington oregon and nevada the three were bob droubay clin ton dimick and george bleazard they traveled in a tru truck ck and slept in the back of course they had a wonderful time who would rit on a trip like that nevertheless less they seemed glad to be back home and down to the old grind again another case to prove the truth of the old adage that liquor and gasoline don dont t mix was an auto accident that occurred last tues day about 5 00 p m in front of norman warr s home according to those who saw the mishap the car was coming fast on the wrong side of the road and it failed to make the curve it swerved off the road rolled over twice and landed right side up against a telephone pole the two occupants in the car a man and a woman both apparent ly were very much under the in fluence of alcohol and neither was hurt very seriously although the car was smashed on one side and windows were shattered the erda ward primary was well represented at the stake harvest festival in grantsville Grants ville we had two floats some bicycles and tri cycles and a little drum corps of five girls dressed in pink and white and carrying oatmeal box drums the girls were carolyn barrus eth el palmer ella merle castagno Marjo marjoire lre weyland and carol laur itzen our banner was carried R by gaylen palmer and donna castag no three baseball games have been played this past week on mon day erda met vernon at st john and erda won 7 6 on thursday the erda versus TOD game was play ed in tooele thoele with TOD the victor is 18 11 erda went to tooele thoele sunday and tooele thoele won 14 4 in our girls softball league erda beat grantsville Grants ville 1st tuesday with a score of 21 14 this tuesday the championship game will be played at grantsville Grants ville between erda and grantsville Grants ville 2nd billy gerrish went home friday with his mother after spending al most two weeks with us it sure ly seems lonesome without him saturday night my mother mrs george cox azile and kenny cox and billy and trisha wayne of salt lake city stopped to see us for a few minutes after attending a birthday party in tooele thoele the wayne children are staying with their grandmother while their par ants are in california on a trip mr and mrs G F fairborne and mrs bertha B miles of salt lake city visited sunday at the home of mr and mrs stanley castagno this has been quite an exciting weekend for the ray Wey lands first of all mr and mrs david weyland received a very welcome visitor a baby boy who arrived at 9 30 a m monday morning august 25 he is the second grand child of mr and mrs ray weyland they also got their first look at the other grandson when their daughter mrs virginia riedel riedl and baby boy arrived monday night for a visit george cochrane left the first of this week for sidney ohio to visit h his is sister mrs edward miller the for former mer miss norma cochrane the primary held graduation ex excises at sunday evening sacra ment meeting the program was as follows with mrs margaret W weyland eyland taking charge talk on the value of teacher training mrs blanche liddell talk on the aims of primary work mrs emma warr song I 1 thank you dear father primary child ren talk on the values of trail building W 0 r k M r s blanche clegg song I 1 am A mormon boy dale castagno anona laur itzen presented for graduation from primary by emma warr awarded certificate by mrs katie palmer primary president short talks by stake board members sister sag ers and sister maxfield talk by bishop droubay song in our lovely deseret primary and congregation gre gation gatlon closing prayer beth clarke this signifies the closing of the second year of primary work in erda and we are very proud of the way the organization has grown and the things that the children have learned and accomplished miss ruby warr left saturday to work in the library at West minis ter college she intends to con dinue this work while attending school there again this tall fall |
