Show Home Vinterization Grant Received Here A grant of $2250.00 from the Federal Energy Administration Administra-tion which is to be used in the purchase of materials, insulation, insula-tion, weathcrstripping, etc. for weather proofing the homes of elderly, low income families in the Moab area is now ready to be spent, according to officials of the Grand County Community Commun-ity Action Agency, who are in charge of the administration of these funds. This is expected to be the beginning of a comprehensive program of home winterization that will continue from year to year with the saving of valuable energy as the prime objective and, of course, smaller heat bills and greater comfort for home owners as added benefits. Home owners who are interested in this kind of assistance should submit an application which will be reviewed by the committee on a first come first served basis. Due to the small amount of money that has been made available this year, Community Commun-ity Action officials say that only a limited amount of work on no more than ten homes is planned'for our area at this time. It was emphasized by local CAP officials that these funds are- to be spent entirely for materials and that labor is to be donated or handled by the home owner. They said that no money will be used for administrative purposes and that every dime will be spent to buy materials for winterization winteriza-tion from local businessmen. For more information and an application form to participate, please call Uzel Foote, 259-5728. 259-5728. Mr. Foote has been asked by the local Community Action board to supervise the winterization program and to assist in any way to make the project a success. |
