Show Comp News Eile Box 6310 Lincoln, Neb. 60506 5' I I March of Dimes campaign activities will get underway at 7 I a.m. Saturday, January 31, in Moab when nine men will begin a I marathon loot race here, to run some 250 miles to Salt Lake City, raising money to fight birth defects. er-1 . The men, alumni cross-country runners of the University of Utah, will try to raise $2,000 in Moab with their marathon endeavor. Local March of Dimes Chairman and Telethon coordinator Ron Turner said that all monies raised by the runners locally will stay in Grand County for projects here. This event will also be covered by KSL In their Telerama, which will begin at 8:30 p.m. Saturday and run 21 hours until 6 p.m. Sunday. The local Telethon, the 7th annual sponsored by the Moab Jaycees, will begin at 10 a.m. February 1 and run until who-knows-when, according to Turner. A variety of local talent will appear on the Telethon, which according to Turner, promises to stir up even more excitement than in previous years, with the addition of a local Skaterama for the March of Dimes, courtesy of Moab Lanes. This event will run from 10 p.m. January 31 to 7 a.m. February 1, and those wishing to participate may do so at no charge either tor skating or equipment. Registration forms are available at Moab Lanes, and skaters are asked to obtain 3 or more sponsors who will give a donation for each hour of continuous skating. |
