Show NEW STRAIN Mr. and Mrs. Al Wadzeck drove to Lander, Wyoming last week to take up two colts that the owner of the Wineglass outfit, Mr. George Graham, Wichita Falls, Texas, wanted broken for cutter racing. Pee Wee McDougall, Sheriff of Fremont County, is a well-known well-known horse trainer, and will break and train these colts. While there, they drove to Riverton to visit a long-time friend of Mr. Graham's who is manager of the Disney Enterprises Enter-prises in Wyoming. They admired a yak bull belonging to this friend, and he then gave Mr. Graham a two-year-old heifer, half yak and half Scottish Highlander to bring home. She is bred to a pure-blood yak. The Wineglass ranch plans to keep the heifer on the ranch all the time, not feeling that the San Rafael Desert is suitable habitat. Whether the yak can be crossbred into a beef type strain remains to be seen. |
