Show Continental Tel. of the Vesi Is Nov the Official Title December 31, 1975 saw the exit of five companies; Continental Contin-ental Telephone Company of Utah, Western States Telephone Tele-phone Company, Treasure State Telephone Company, Montana Telephone Company and Idaho Telephone Company. Com-pany. January 1, 1976 saw the arrival of a new nine state operation known as Continental Continen-tal Telephone Company of the West. It required approvals from eighteen life insurance companies. com-panies. It required approvals from two equipment suppliers. It required approvals or statements from nine state regulatory bodies. It required approval from the Federal Communications Commission. It required approval from the REA. The last approval was received at 4:45 p.m., EDT, on December 30th. That left enough time on the 30th and the 31st to file and have recorded, all the necessary legal documents with state agencies in nine states. The books of the five companies are merged and the Rocky Mountain Divison is now one large company: Continental Telephone Company Com-pany of the West. W.S. Hegmann is President of the Company with his office at Phoenix, Arizona. Grant T. Callister is Utah State Service Manager with offices in Tremonton, Utah. Continental Telephone Company of the West operates three districts in Utah at Delta, Moab, and Tremonton, serving more than 17,000 telephones. |
