Show tr& 3 4-H REPORTS Know your 4-H programs. Bicycle: This program is to teach children the rules of the road, ordinance of the community com-munity pertaining to bicycles and bicycle driving, and the importance of obeying these laws. Its aim is to teach the children knowledge of bicycle safety, attitudes leading to proper bicycle driving, and the proper maintenance and care of their bicycle. The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company offers these awaards: Country - 4 gold medals of honor, State - $50 U.S. Savings Bond for one state winner, Sectional -eighteen expense paid trips to 4-H Congress in Chicago, National - six educational scholarships of $800 each. Wc are looking for people who enjoy being with young people between the ages of 9 and 19. We need leaders for groups such as entomology, forestry, bicycle safety, clothing, food, home improvement, knitting, electricity, elec-tricity, small engines, woodcraft, wood-craft, archery and photography. photogra-phy. If you have a special interest and would like to lead a group, call Jean Letellier at 259-6845. Garden Projects 4-H club members who are planning to do a garden project may get their ga ilcn seeds at a reduced pnc. There are two different seed packets being offered. One is a regular packet, and the second is short season packet. An esti nate of the cost is $5 for the short packet and $7 for the regular packet. We need to know immediately immediat-ely if any 4-H member wants a packet. |
