Show Patrol Checked Two Accidents During Week Two accidents on Saturday, Jan. 24, were investigated in the area by the Utah Highway Patrol. At 10 a.m. 15 miles south of Moab on US 163, Clyde Rowland Gustafson, Salt Lake City, was driving a 1972 Chevrolet van. Going down grade on slick road, he let off the accelerator and applied brakes, and the vehicle slid across the road, into the barrow ditch and rolled on its right side. Gustafson was cited by Trooper Robert Lowe for failure to keep control of a vehicle. At 1:30 p.m. 7 miles north of Moab Judith A. Jones, Hill Air Force Base, was driving a 1967 Pontiac station wagon. As she reached for an article on the seat, the vehicle ran off the road. Passengers included David R. Jones, 10, and Donna L. Jones, 12. Donna was taken to Allen Memorial Hospital for examination and treatment of a bruise on her back. There was about $200 damage to the vehicle, and Mrs. Jones was cited by Trooper Ron Wood for failure to keep control of the vehicle. |
