Show Drama Department To Present Play By Claudia Carter Grand County High School Drama department, under the direction of Mr. Windell Bowthorpe, is presenting, this week "Meet Me In St. Louis" at Star Hall, beginning at 8:15 p.m. each evening, January 27, 28, and 29, a 3-act hilarious comedy written by Sally Benson. This play is well known for making Judy Garland and Robert Stack stars years ago on Broadway. The plot of the play includes a father who is transferred to New York because of his job. His family refuses to leave St. Louis because of a worlds fair that soon will be opening. The children end up causing trouble in order to convince their fahter's boss they won't leave. The father almost loses his job but all problems finally are resolved to the happiness of all concerned. The characters portraying the part include Grandpa-Danny Grandpa-Danny Cleveland, Rosy-Kathy Knight, Mrs. Waughop-Laurie Stocks, Ida-Cynthia Tibbetts John-Neal West, Fred-Karl Prat, Lucille-Linda Irish, Mr. Dodge-Mike Pipkin, Miss Duf-fy-Marjorie Snyder, Conductor-Jerry Stocks. Tickets are $1.00 for adults and $.50 for children. Mr. Bowthorpe also commented that he is hoping for a large audience to defray expenses. |
