Show Bovs State Selections Saturday m Selection of boys to attend Boys State from Moab was made by members of American Ameri-can Legion Post 54 April 9, with 10 delegates and 4 alternates named. Delegates and their sponsors spon-sors are Russell S. Peck, Miller's Super Market; Ronald S. Higgins, TexasGulf Inc.; Michael G. Bunce, Continental Telephone; Thomas Kelly Mays, Elks Lodge; Jay A. Johnson, Dr. Paul Mayberry and Dr. Jay Munsey; Jerry Stocks, First Security Bank; Steven R. Klcpzig, Apache Motel; lley Wayne Copeland, TexasGulf Inc.; Kelly L. Denney, Moab Lumber Co.; and David R. Pack, American Legion Post 54. Named as alternates, in case one or more of the delegates cannot attend, were Todd Zimmerman, Mike Zimmerman, Zimmer-man, Robert Cooley and Kevin Gilliland. According to Bill Green, this is the largest group of boys sent to Boys State from Moab. Participation is based on how many members there are in each sponsoring American Legion Post. Due to an extensive membership drive locally for the American Legion, 10 Boys State dele- gates were allowed on the 6-12. Boys from all over Utah basis of one delegate for each will study the workings of ten Legion members. government, participate in Boys State will be held at election, and conduct a mock Utah State University June government. |
