Rodeo entries totaled 160 to provide a lot of well-rounded competition in each division. Bare back bronc riding had 39 participants; 30 rode the bulls; and 11 attempted to saddle ride the broncs. Outstanding rodeo stock was furnished by the Rocking R, owned by Larry Russel of St. John Utah. Four of Moab's members qualified to attend state competition in Heber City on June 23 to 26. They were Jill Krist, Carolyn Dalton, Darren Narren and Roy Krist. The rodeo club would like to thank all those who helped make the rodeo a success. The monitor of the show, Clint Down, complimented the participants par-ticipants on an outstanding job for their first year. The girls had the opportunity opportun-ity to visit with Miss Rodeo America, Connie Delia Lucia. j Roy Krist was among the competitors, and a winner, of last week's rodeo sponsored by the Grand County High School Rodeo Club. Over 150 high school students from throughout Utah were on hand for the first state sanctioned event of the rodeo season. |
