Show Letters from Our Readers... Dear Sam: I want to take this opportunity opportun-ity to express my appreciation to the special study committee that was appointed by the Grand County Commission to study City-County Consolidation Consolida-tion which committee was comprised of the following members: Dick Allen, D. L. Taylor, Flora Evans, Yvonne Hawks, Harry Snow, Robert H. Ruggeri, Charles McMur-ray, McMur-ray, Karl Tangren, Connie Cauoette, Les Rogers, Bill McDougald. After two years of diligent study and careful consideration, considera-tion, this committee did recommend a change in our local form of government. If they think this is the best plan, then it is good enough for me. Sincerely, Jay Holland P.S. To Concerned Citizens: Rather than make up your minds on the basis of all the "Off The Cuff Expert Opinions" Opin-ions" that are being offered, why not contact one of the study committee members and get an expert opinion of why consolidation would be in the best interest of our community; Dear Editor, In reference to the article by Joan M. Czark and associates stating the desire for residents of Utah to read the BLM manuals on the Kaiparowits "Dam," it might be well that she read the BLM manuals as well, so as to learn it is not a "Dam" at all but a "power plant." Last week's paper had a very similar letter, written obviously by the same associates, associ-ates, once again calling it a "Dam." To give so much advice and not even know what the project is is quite amazing even to a eleven year old as myself. I am concerned with the environment but also the progress which assures the safety of our country through strength and energy. Alan Albrecht Dear Sam Taylor: Last Friday, there was quite an event in Moab. It was called Community Profiles and was presented by the Grand County Drug and Alcohol Advisory Committee. I think it was just about the greatest thing to hit Moab, since Peanut Butter and Jelly! Although it was presented by the Drug and Alcohol people, there were many things that had interest to all the communitycommunication communitycommunica-tion skills, values clarification, values in education, conflict management, parent effectiveness, effective-ness, teacher effectiveness, and humanizing education. These were, besides, a number num-ber of fine workshops pertaining, pertain-ing, to drug and alcohol abuse in Utah, in employees, in law enforcement. I went to as many as I could-,-colIege credit was available. avail-able. The law enforcement of Moab was very well represented, represent-ed, but I was so very disappointed to see our teaching teach-ing community not taking advantage of this fine opportunity. oppor-tunity.
