Beef for the dinner was donated by George White of Moab, Hardy Redd, Monti-ttlloand Monti-ttlloand Paul Redd, Paradox, Colorado. If the weather should be unpleasant, dinner will be served at the Helen M. Knight Elementary School. The Lions will be hosting the traditional Saturday morning breakfast, cooked and served ranch style. Serving will begin at 7 a.m. at the Lions Park. This is a great place to get to know people and make last minute decisions about which trail to take if the trail choice has been hard to make. Leaders of the various trails will be on hand to discuss equipment requirements, scenery, time schedules, etc., or answer any questions. Tickets for the breakfast will be on sale that morning, $1.50 for adults and $1 for children 12 and under. Sign-up for the various trails will open up at the Visitor Center at 9 a.m. Friday and continue until around 7 that evening or until activity ceases. Jeepers will also be able to sign up Saturday morning at the Center from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. The lineup of jeeps in downtown Moab begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday participants are reminded that those who arrive later than 9 a.m. will be left behind. Veteran Trail Boss Harold Jacobs urges all visitors to sign the guest book at the Visitor Center to assure future information on the Safari plans that will be received. Traditional Easter Sunrise services will be held on Easter Sunday morning at 6:30 a.m. in the Arches National Park at the La Sal View Point. The services are designed for all faiths and are sponsored by the Moab Ministerial Association. Associa-tion. This is a special and unforgetable part of Easter in Canyon Country. The early hour and unpredictable weather weath-er warrants warm, casual clothing for this event. Hundreds of 4-wheel drive rigs will be in Moab this weekend .to participate in the Tenth Annual Jeep Safari sponsored by the Moab Chamber of Commerce. In addition to having nine trails to choose from for Saturday's run, a full weekend of activities will be available to local residents and area visitors. Action begins Friday with sign-up for the trails and a barbeque prepared by the Grand District of Boy Scouts. Breakfast will be served Saturday morning by the Lions and Safari runs will begin at 9 a.m. Rounding out the weekend will be Easter Sunrise Services in the Arches National Park. ( |
