Show PEP ASSEMBLY By Jamie Holyoak An assembly was held at Grand County High School Tuesday, March 14, to boost pep and spirit for the AA State Basketball Basket-ball games that were held last weekend in Provo, Utah at the Marriot Center. Following the welcome by student body president Tommy Pruitt, and flag ceremony and school song by the cheerleaders, the drill team performed their novelty drill from competi- tion to the music of the Pink Panther. The cheerleaders cheer-leaders then led the student body in a cheer of "Devils Take State!" Coach Del Ford and Coach Kurt Roberts gave short talks about last week's region tournament and their hope for the state tournament. A surprise speaker not on the program, pro-gram, basketball player Chad Donoghue, talked about how the team had played at the region tournament and how they hoped to play at state. He asked the student body to come to the state tournament tourna-ment and support them. The assembly ended with a comical skit depicting depict-ing the personalities of some of the basketball players, cheerleaders and coaches and their attitudes atti-tudes toward the game.
