Show Officer on probation following accident Moab Police Officer Phillip Porter has been placed on 6-months probation proba-tion by Chief Mel Dalton for improper use of an emergency vehicle. Dalton informed the city council he was taking the action after an incident in which Porter was pursuing pursu-ing a vehicle on Main Street without red lights or siren, resulting in a collision with a private citizen's vehicle. On March 20 about 5 p.m. on 2nd South, a 1977 GMC pickup belonging to Glen Byers was hit by an unknown vehicle while parked. There was about $50 damage. Also March 20 at 3 p.m. in the Moab Lumber parking lot, Alice Char- trand was backing a 1977 ChevTolet pickup and hit a parked 1966 Cadillac belonging be-longing to Charles Free-gard. Free-gard. There was about S100 damage to the Cadillac and none to the pickup. There were no citations as the accident was on private property. On March 16 Tracy Flynn reported a loss of valuables from her locker at the high school of about S140. There was an act of vandalism at the high school reported March 15, where 3 windows valued at about SI 40 were broken. brok-en. On the 16th another act of vandalism was reported where a window was broken at Taco Time. Value was about S75. |
