Show j RLM hearings set ... The Bureau of Land Management is soon to istart a program similar to the RARE II studies of the U.S. Forest Service, in developing guidelines and rules for carrying out an inventory of potential wilderness areas on public lands managed by the bureau. And while the "wilderness" studies of the Forest Service drew much comment and large attendance in the Moab area, it is expected that the BLM's meetings will be even more actively attended since that agency manages far more acreage in the west than the Forest Service. Three meetings to explain the proposed procedures to interested people have been scheduled in Utah, and one of those is in Moab. It will be held at 7 p.m. on April 17 at Southeast Elementary School, and the general public is invited. |
