Show win ik mam Prospectors' Camp Becomes Thriving Town With Influx In-flux of New Residents. Manhattan, Goldfield, Tonopali and Divide Di-vide during the first sixty days of their respective boom periods, according to the Tonopali .Daily Times, certainly did not have anything on the now camp of Arrowhead. Ar-rowhead. Only a prospectors' camp sixty days ago, it has now blossomed out into a thriving mining town. An estimate oZ the citizens now assembled in the new town shows the number to be between 150 and 200. aod there are dozens in and out each day who are engaged in operation opera-tion of the various properties or who are prospective purchasers or sightseers. The district is opening up for a length of at least seven miles, and the fact that rich ore specimens are being taken at various places on the surface all indicate indi-cate that the ore bodies arc not confined to the Arrowhead mine. Dr. W. S. HolnujUist. who has recently received his honorable discharge from the army, has moved his office from Ely to Arrowhead and has the distinction of being be-ing tho first one of his profession in the new camp. He will practice medicine and surgery and during Ids idle time will look alter his mining interests. A recreation parlor, containing pool. Millard Mi-llard and other games, is now under construction con-struction and should be almost completed within the next few days. The Arrowhead Intension is vigorously pusi.ing work in two prospect shafts. They have just discovered rich stringers of sulphides in the bottom of each prospect pros-pect shaft and will follow these, as it appears they may lead into a body of ore. An assay across two feet ran $10.30. The Arrowhead mine lias been lioisting ore for the past several days With Its new equipment. It is said to have opened some of the richest ore yet encountered. Assays obtained are reported to run over $400 across four feet In the bottom of the winze. The stock has been rather active since being listed and a wire frrom San Krancisco from the president stated that he expected to see it sell for 60 cents per share before the end of this week. It is rumored that a deal of much significance sig-nificance is now under way, and should It be consummated some startling news concerning con-cerning this district will no doubt be heard. |
