Show LETTER ON LEAGUE PLEASES PRESIDENT Walter P. Kirksey, who recently sent President Wilson a letter asking for immediate im-mediate ratification by the senate of the league of nations as the proposed league now stands, has received the following i letter from President Wilson's office: "The White House, Washington, August 16, 1919. I "My Dear Mr. Kirksey: I "The president has read with interest your letter of August 12, and he asks I me to thank you warmly for writing him. j He is most appreciative of your friendly exnress'ons. as well as your support. I "Sincerelv yours, ! "J. P. TUMULTY, "Secretary to the President." Mr. Kirksey outlined that he was opposed op-posed to any reservations or modifications, modifica-tions, and that it any should be made, they should be made at a later day, as was done with the constitution. 1 |
