Show SUSPECTS WE ! STiLMfl Jit; Wyoming Sheriff on Way to Identify Men Arrested j in Ogden. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, Aug. 20. That R. H. Bryant and J. R. Ockey, arrested late yesierday ; afternoon as suspects in connection with ; a murder In Hot Springs county, Wyo- j ming-, August 7, are none other than j "Red" Devlne and Orville Kyle, is the opinion of Sheriff H. C. Peterson. Ad- j vices to this effect have been telegraphed to Harry K. Hoidredge, sheriff at Ther-mopoiis. Ther-mopoiis. During the examination conducted by Sheriff Peterson tins morning Bryant admitted ad-mitted that he had gone by the .name of Clint Devine and was sometimes called "Red" Devine. He said that he , had not been in Wyoming for "a long time." Ockey said that he had never ; gone under any alias. He was nervous during his examination by the. sheriff, however, and burst into tears while being questioned as to his alleged part in the crime mentioned. Bryant laughed at the officers when he was arrested and said there was nothing to any charge in Wyoming. Wyo-ming. Today the sheriff said he exhibited ex-hibited extreme nervousness and paced his cell frequently. The examination of Bryant will be resumed re-sumed when the Wyoming officer arrives, which is expected to he tomorrow afternoon. after-noon. Late today Sheriff Peterson received re-ceived the following telegram from Ther-mopolis: Ther-mopolis: "Wire immediately if you have C. A. Devine. alias 'Red' Devine, and Orville Kyle in custody, Kyle described as English, En-glish, five feet nine in bare feet, large-medium large-medium brown eyes, complexion medium dark, hair chestnut or brown, scar phalanx pha-lanx of left index finger. Have warrant first-degree murder. Will leave immediately imme-diately upon receipt of wire. "HARRY E. HOLDREDGE, "Sheriff, Hot Springs County, Wyoming." Ockey tallies with the description, with the exception that he is about two inches under the height mentioned in the telegram. tele-gram. He has a scar across the back of the hand at the base of left index finger. Sheriff A. A. Sanders sent the first telegram on the murder case and said that 5100 reward, each, was offered for the capture of Devine and Kyle. Ulmont Burdick, the third man picked up in connection with the case, is being held with the oilier suspects pending the arrival of the Wyoming officer. |
