Show First Place in Exemption Honors Is Won by Utah Fewer Men to Claim Ineligibility In-eligibility Than From Any of Seven Sister States. UTAH bears the distinction of having hav-ing sent fewer men to Camp Lewis who have claimed exemption exemp-tion and fewer who have been exempted and returned home than any of the seven states sending draft contingents. This was emphasized yesterday in a special dispatch to The Tribune by Captain Cap-tain Earl H. Plummer, in charge of the divisional exemption board, when, lie announced an-nounced that Private J. K. Burbidge of the finance department quartermaster corps, had been discharged from service as exempt and returned to his home in Salt Lake. The work done by the local exemption and examining boards in Salt Lake and Utah and the spirit and enthusiasm of rhe men is responsible, the dispatch concludes. |
