Show WAR THRIFT AGENCIES PLAN FDRAGTIV!TY Federal Savings Director Instructs Odell to Increase In-crease Ratio. A new drive to secure official war stamp selling agencies in Utah is to be launched immediately by the state committee com-mittee on war savings, as a result of an order- from the federal director of war savin ps increasing the ratio of agencies in this state from 1 to 300 of population to 1 to 100 of population. The state committee was just about to go "over the top" with its complete quota of agencies under the original allotment when the order increasing the ratio was received, thus making it necessary for the war savings authorities to put every possible bit of machinery in operation to get the additional agencies. Had not the number of agencies been changed by the new order, Utah would have been the first state to report its full quota of agencies, and now the state committee proposes, if possible, to make the state the first to secure the number under the new allotment. It will be necessary, under the new order, to establish about 4000 official selling sell-ing agencies in the state, outside of the postoflices, which are already all selling agencies. The state now has about 1500 agencies under the old allotment, and it is expected that wiihin a short time the full quota of 4300 will be obtained. A tabulation of figures that has been prepared by the state committee, showing show-ing the proportionate number of selling agencies in the various counties, shows that Weber county lends all the counties 3f the state. Her percentage on a population popu-lation basis is S6.3. while Sun Juan county is second, with a percentage of 72.8. Salt !Lale City has a percentage of 72.7, but Salt Lake county is considerably below normal, with but 47. 3 per cent of the agencies it should have. Special attention is to be given to the matter of Increasing the number of agencies agen-cies in Salt Lake county at once, that the county record mav be brought up to a point where it should be.
