Show ARTILLERYMEN ARE GUESTS OF B. P. O. E. Seventeen members of the Twenty-fifth coast artillery, all residents of California, were gues's last night at a reception and dance given in their honor by the Salt Lake lodge of Klks. The men are stationed sta-tioned at Garfield and several days- ago were invited by tbe Elks to attend the entertainment planned for them. Only seventeen were able to secure leave of abseii'-e. Arriving at 5:35 o'clock yesterday afternoon, after-noon, Uic men were met at. the station by John S. Corless and others and entertained en-tertained until the hour of the reception. Members of tbe KIk fraternity had been requested to t ake all t ho feminine por-tions por-tions of their families to meet the Call-foniians Call-foniians and there were many in attendance. attend-ance. ; Tn order that the entertainment might; continue until a f(er 1 11 : i- oVlo?k, when the train to Garfield left Salt Lake, W. H. 3Iat thews, manager of the Kcnyou hotel, had all the artillerymen as his guests for the night. They will return to camp early this morning. |
