Equip More Teachers. Inasmuch as the urgent call from Red Cross headquarters is for more certified instructors in the art of making sur-' sur-' gieal dressings, the Salt take county , chapter is doing its part to supply this need of the hour. New classes in surgical sur-gical dressings are being organized almost daily, working under one of the certified instructors sent, out by the chapter's supervisor of this depart- merit. Instruction is now being given 'at both Murray and Heher, the class . at Gerfiold has finished the course, . while Bingham has asked for an in-. in-. structor and will be supplied this week. Last night at the main gauze room the work in making of dressings was done by the Catholic, Women's Business league and the Red Cross auxiliary of tho .Mountain States Telephone company. com-pany. At the civilian relief quarters it was officially stated yesterday that Attorney Attor-ney Stephen L. Richards had accepted the proffered chairmanship of the committee on legal aid for that department, depart-ment, and would organize tho lawyers of the city to, co-operate with him in this lino of work. Working Force Growing. Whilo many visit the supply department depart-ment merely to inspect this hive of activity, hundreds more are callers on official business, coming to take away material with which they may work for ; the Ked Cross. Loads of material go out every day by parcel post and express, ex-press, to say nothing of the smaller consignments that are carried away by individual workers. Socks Now Preferred. While the knitting of socks is slight-' slight-' ly more difficult to the beginner than the work in making sweaters, the sup- j ply depatrmertt urges that knitters now devote more of their time to the socks, in view of the fact that even in mild weather the demaud for properly knitted knit-ted socks for the soldiers is certain to be steadily growing. The surgical dressings auxiliary of the Citv Federation of clubs will meet Mondav afternoon at 2:P0 o'clock in the main gauze room of the Amelia palace. Utah Youth to Fore.
