Show Pratt a Workhorse. By International News Service. NEW YORK, Jan. 2-i. Derrill Pratt, purchased from the St. Louis Browns to be the backbone of the Yankee infield, has a record of missing only one game in the last five years in which his team took part. From July 23, 1912, to April 30, 1017, he played 719 games. In the first game of -a double-header at S-t. Louis in 191 1, he was put off the field bv Umpire Dineen, and, tinder the rule, was kept out of the second game. This was the only time the Browns went into a battle without the second baseman during his stay with the St. Louis club. |
