Show 5E 1 OBI ACRE TRACTS JfiEE TODAY Issued Excursion Tickets Good an Any Street Car Going to Home Site. This is the story of the weather man's conquest, an. exasperated real estate firm and a blighted excursion. The exasperated real estate firm is the Bettilyon Home Builders company, developers de-velopers of the Val Verda tract of acre homesites, seven and a half miles north of Salt Lake, on the Centerville car line. The part taken by the weather man hag been told in every newspaper for the past two weeks in something like the following fol-lowing style "cloudy, unsettled weather rain today." The bliphted excursion was the "See Val Verda Day" outing planned for May 20, then postponed on account of the rain until May 27, when it rained all that day. Then tlie officials of the Bettilyon company refused to declare a truce with Mr. weatherman, and severed all diplomatic relations, which has resulted re-sulted in the tantalizing lure of real summer sum-mer sunshine. V. A. Bettilyon, president of the Bettilyon Bet-tilyon Home Builders company, declares that Val Verda is far more beautiful than it ever was before. The spring- rains have helped the high cost of living fighters, at any rate, but as Mr. Bettilyon Bettil-yon puts it, "It's an ill wind that blows I no good to anyone," and the 1500 people who signified their intention of participating partici-pating in the "See Val Verda Day" excursion ex-cursion may use their free coupons, which entitle the holders to free transportation to and from Val Verda, during the next two Sundays. "Just take any street car, show the free coupon ticket and ask for a transfer to the Centerville car line, which takes you direct to Val Verda, and you will be surprised sur-prised what a beautiful spot you will find for a family picnic," declared Mr. Bettilyon Bet-tilyon yesterday. Picnicking at Val Verda is all the same as going to the country for a holldav, where days and nights are ideal and all outdoors is alive with early summer fun, with the gardens a revelation of green, the fruit trees a marss of blossoms., and the entire tract nestled in the foothills of the Wasatch mountains. Val Verda is the place chosen by the Bettilyon Home Builders company to demonstrate the greatest of all living truths that a man who is willing to work can take an acre of land and grow everything every-thing that his family will eat during the entire year, while lie continues with his work in the city, going to and from Val V erda by street car. Eight beautiful bungalows have been constructed and occupied. Others are going go-ing up right along, and all of the new owners have planted their acres in vegetables vege-tables and fruits, preparing- for the coming com-ing winter. Mr. Bettilyon states that someone will be on the tract both this Sundav and next Sunday to show the excursionists over Val Verda, with its manv improvement improve-ment s. including electric lights, telephones, tele-phones, a splendid waterworks svstem, paved sidewalks, graded streets and scores of oilier city conveniences at country economy. |
