Show SEVERAL POISONED; POTATOES EXAMINED Walter M. Boyden, state dairy and food commissioner, said yesterday that a number of persons had recently been made ill through eating potatoes bought on the market. He has submitted samples sam-ples to Herman Harms, state chemist, for examination. It is the opinion of both these officials offi-cials that the complaining persons have unwittingly used potatoes that were intended for seed and which had been treated with corrosive sublimate. This conclusion is reached after having heard of the symptoms produced. The facts will not be determined, however, conclusively con-clusively until after t.he analysis has been made. In the meantime the state dairy and food department is urging the people to exercise care in the selection of potatoes po-tatoes for table use. |
