Show WARD IS TO HONOR ENLISTED MEMBERS Twenty-ninth Ecclesiastical Subdivision ! Will Have Entertainment on Evening Eve-ning of June 29. The bishopric and the amusement committee com-mittee of the Twenty-ninth ward of the Mormon church in this city are preparing prepar-ing a patriotic entertainment in honor of the members of the ward wno have enlisted In the different departments of the armed forces of the United States, and on the evening of June 29 a programme pro-gramme will be given In the meeting house of the ward. W. W. Emery, bishop of the Twenty-ninth ward, has charge of the details of the arrange- . ments and said yesterday that the affair promises to be one of the largest at- I tended celebrations held in the ward in ! a number of months. An invitation is j extended to all to attend. Three members of the ward have enlisted en-listed In the marine corps and have been sent to Mare island for training. Seven who have enlisted are still in tiie city awaiting to be sent to the sea coast for training. It is the purpose of the entertainment enter-tainment committee to make the affair as big a patriotic gathering as has been held in any of the wards of the Mormon church in the state. In addition to patriotic patri-otic addresses a musical programme will be rendered. A number of prominent speakers from over the state are to be present at the meeting. |
