Show COAL CONSUMERS'. CASE POSTPONED Complainants of High Prices Will Assemble As-semble Data for Probe by Commission. Because the complaining coal consumers consum-ers were not quite prepared with the necessary facts for presentation to the public utilities commission, it was decided de-cided that a definite date for a meeting be left to a future time. This conclusion ' was reached at a brief conference yesterday yes-terday during the noon intermission in the freight rate hearing. Orson H. Hewlett, Hew-lett, George S. McAllister, Joseph S. Peery and J. K. Bruff, representing the coal consumers, were at the conference. Complaint is made by the coal consumers con-sumers because of the present high prices and on account of threatened further fur-ther advances. Apprehension is also felt that next winter there may be a repetition repeti-tion of the coal shortage experienced in this city last winter. It Is with a view of seeing what can be done to remedy this situation that representatives of the consumers are seeking to arrange an Investigation before be-fore the state public utilities commission. commis-sion. Pending announcement of a definite meeting date, the representatives of the consumers are to assemble their racts and data, while the commission will endeavor en-deavor to figure out means of rendering the assistance asked for. |
