Fred Fulton, the giant heavyweight, tonight made a record which no other fighter holds he made Sam Langford, the Boston tar baby, quit in the seventh round. Langford was not the Langford of old. He could not stand the punishment. Fulton Ful-ton was his master at all stages. Tn the seventh the negro's seconds threw up the sponge to save their man. The match was for twelve rounds, but Langford did not stand up - when the bell rang for the seventh round. He had been knocked cleanly down in the second round and had taken considerable punishment. |
