Show OFFICIALS OF STATE HAVE MOVING DAY Elective Officers Pack Personal Belongings Belong-ings and Keinove Them From Capitol. Yesterday was official moving day at the state capitol. All officials who automatically retire from .o thee at noon January 1 gathered their personal belongings together yesterday yes-terday and . had them moved to their private offices down town or to their homes. Some of the appointive officers, who are reasonably certain that they will step out after 'the first of the. year also took occasion to pack their 'personal 'per-sonal possessions and move them from the capitol. A large van drove up to tho capitol early yesterday morning and it was loaded with books, papers and other personal belongings of Governor William Spry Attorney General A. It. Barnes and other officials who will turn over their offices Monday noon to tho newly new-ly elected officers. Employees iu the various departments depart-ments arc not preparing to move as yet. In practically every department the employees have been notified they will retain thei r jobs at least for a time, so that the business of the offices of-fices may proceed as usual until the new elective, officials and appointive heads of the offices are able to locate themselves and arrange their forces properly. As a result there wUl be few, if any, clerks and stenographers to move out Mondny, but practically all of them will remain for a while and some probably will retain their positions posi-tions permanently, it is stated. |
