Show FISTOIE COMPANY DIISjMMS Sixteen Enjoy Feast and Programme Friday in Newhouse Hotel. x Employees of the Firestone Tire & Rubber company, numbering sixteen in all, were the guests of W. L. Sewell, branch manager of this territory, at a banquet held in the oak room of the Newhouse hotel last Friday evening. This event has now become an annual affair, this being the second, and was much enjoyed en-joyed by all present. The oak room, where the banquet was held, was attractively decorated in red and black, the color combination of Firestone Fire-stone tires. After the banquet, speeches, of course, were in order. W. L. Sewetl was the principal speaker and his remarks were thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated. He complimented the branch upon the splendid splen-did showing mariu last season, told of the good average the branch maintained at Akron, spoke in glowing terms of the opportunities op-portunities of the Firestone company, of the wonderful expansion it had made and the plans laid for the future. He finished by calling on everyone present to "put their shoulder to the wheel and work for the mutual benefit of the company and themselves." Then followed short talks in rapid succession suc-cession by F. E. MacKenzie, office manager; man-ager; W. W. Jenkins, service manager, and E. M. Baker, sales promotion manager. man-ager. Salesmen Brockbank. Barrett and Morton were alo called upon to give an account of themselves, which they did in very good fashion. As a fitting climax to the evening, Miss Florence Hudson, who is to be married soon, was ' presented with a beautiful chest of community silver. Miss Hudson Hud-son was cashier and has been with the company since the branch was organized. Those present were: W. L. Sewell, branch manager; F. E. MacKenzie, office manager; Salesmen. G. M. Berg, Miss Neslen, Miss Ford, Miss Decker, Miss McGillivray and Miss Hudson. |
