Show WOMEN'S CHESS FAVORS SHORT E Declares Against Injunction in Cases of Industrial Disputes. CHICAGO, Dec 30. An eight-hour day and a six-day week for all working women, including servants, was indorsed I at tho closing sesniou of the annual meeting of the Illinois Woman's Legislative Legis-lative congress today. Other resolutions adopted urged: That no court injum' tion be issued in any industrial dispute on an ex-parte hearing. That no one held for contempt of court in an industrial dispute be denied the right of a trial by jury. That members, of school boards be elected by direct vote. Amend men t of the election laws of the state making the buyer of votes equally guilty with the seller. Anti-militaristic system of physical training in public schools. --Extension of state civil service laws. Vocational educa tion as an integral part -of the public school system. Compulsory education of the blind. Appropriation by the legislature of an equal amount to the federal allotment for good roads and a state system of highways. Revision of laws regulating theaters and other places of amusement so as to prevent obscenity and making the manager man-ager or owner of the places of amusement amuse-ment legally responsible for violations. Recall of public officials who refuse to enforce the anti-cigarette law. |
