INSPIKED T-ith loyalty for their country and a sympathy for the Sammies who are fighting the battle bat-tle of democracy across the sea. the girls of the fourth grade of the Longfellow school are devoting their efforts to Red Cross knitting. They are working under the direction of Principal Princi-pal Oraee E. Frot and their teacher, -Miss S. Loretto Butler. Miss Butler. - who is an alumna of the University of "Wyoming, was last year associated as assistant director with the American Unletting and Refining company's citi- zenship schools of Garfield. Among other items of handiwork being be-ing made by the youngsters are knitted wash cloths, wristers and sweaters. Those who are in charge of the Red Cross knitting have expressed their pleasure with the eagerness and enthusiasm enthu-siasm with which the little girls take to their work and the evident pride they manifest in performing a service for the American soldieis. i |
