Hyde, case, In which the United States supreme court today upheld tlie Minerals Seperation oil flotation patent, is the forerunner of the famous Butte & Superior and Miami cases. The main issue, validity of the old flotation flota-tion patent, is identical In ad. The process in question Is in use in America by virtually all the big copper and zinc mining companies. If the decision de-cision Is a sweeping victory, as mining operators here believe, the Butte & Superior Su-perior company alone must pay loyalties for the use of the patents upon 1.300.000 tons of ore treated by this process since November 14. 1313, and for all ore treated by it in the future. The basis of royalty is' said to be between 10 and 15 cents a ton. |
