Show AUSTRO-GERMAN FORCES BROUGHT TO HALT BY RUSS PETROGRAD. Dec. 11. via London, 1:50 p. m. Austro-German troops took the offensive of-fensive yesterday in the region of Pomorzany, forty-five miles southeast of Lemberg "in Gallcia,' says today's war office of-fice statement, but were brought to a halt by the Russian tire. The statement reads: Western front: The enemy bombarded bom-barded the region of the forest of Governor Calovsa without cessation from -midday until 5 o'clock in the afternoon. Southeast of Pomorzany, in the region re-gion of the village of Josepohovka, the enemy took the offensive, but his detachments were repulsed by the fire of our advanced outposts. In the region six versts west of Pzembronia the enemy, having taken the offensive, pressed back one of our advanced companies which, however, how-ever, supported by another company, beat hack the enemy and again restored re-stored our positions. ' Repeated enemy' attacks in the same sections were unsuccessful. |
