Show FIELD HOSPITAL BOYS ARE WELCOMED BACK Reach Here in Storm, but Are Delighted to Be Home Again. With blowing of bugles and joyous cheers, members of the Utah field hospital hos-pital No. 29 reached the Oregon Short Line depot at 10:50 o'clock last night. Forty-seven men and oflicers were in the special which had brought them from Nogales, Ariz., where they have been in camp since July 17 last. Two others. Waller Fairweather and Frank Young, were left behind in the base hospital at Xogales. Both are suffering suf-fering from broken legs. Fair weather's leg was broken by a fall from a wagon and Young suffered his injury when he slipped and fell on some rough ground. Aside from these two, every member of the tinit was present at the roll call before be-fore they were dismissed to go to their homes. All are In good health and exuberant ex-uberant spirits. The boys were lined up when they left the train and notified to be present at Fort Douglas Friday for the formal mustering mus-tering out of Uncle Sam's service. However, How-ever, they will report at the post Tuesday. Tues-day. Then they broke ranks, when the crowds of relatives and friends overwhelmed over-whelmed and made much of them. "We are glad to get back," Major John F. Sharp, commander of the hospital, said. "We have had plenty of practice, even though there was no righting to speak of in our neighborhood. The last two weeks before we left we were handling the overflow from the regular base hospital, and we were quite busy." .Those who returned last night are: Major John F. Sharp, Captain George F. Privates James Moyer. Edgar W. Johnson, John-son, Wilford C. Snowden, Jarvis C. Struve, J. Hudson, Clarence Morley, De-loye De-loye E. McDonald, Fred Flavell. John Nusink, Arthur II, Woodbury, Abe B. Cllne, James S. Eld red ge, Leonard W. Price, LeVerne Peterson, Arthur W. Cre-gan, Cre-gan, Philip E. Brother, Vincent Sexton, Harry Susmaii, I lolger N. Gulbransen. Mark E. Tripp. Orson C. Spencer. With the arrival of the field hospital, all the Utah troops are now at home with the exception of the Second cavalry, commanded com-manded by Major W. B. Wallace, which is still at the front. |
